The Association of Friends, founded in 1987, brings together individuals who are interested in the activities of the Institute. The Association supports the Institute's educational and research activities and distributes postgraduate scholarships. It organises for its members various events such as lectures and cultural excursions within the Mediterranean region, and distributes its own popular journal, Helikon.
